The Volcano eruption in Iceland and a nailcontest!!

Photo by Reuter, you can find it over here.

Hi sweet readers,

Well today again a day without planes :-(
Because of the eruption of the volcano in Iceland all airtraffic is forbidden over The Netherlands.
For us people.....who live in the neighbourhood of Schiphol it is getting used to the silence in our environment. It is so quiet!!!! No planes in the air, no stripes in the sky.....no sound of roaring engines above your head (sometimes it is bad).
Nothing, total silence........wow....
In my live I never experienced something like this. Living my whole live here surrounded by the sight of planes and their sounds it really is strange.

And all those poor people who can't go to their homes and beloved ones. People who have to miss the burials or births of family or friends because they are stranded here. It's awfull for them. I think of them all and hope that this cloud of ash will be gone very soon.

But our sky was looking awesome yesterday.
Look at this gorgeous photo.
I got it from a dutch newssite and it was made by a dutch guy Bob Kerssens.

The website you can find over here.

Now after this some updating concerning a nailcontest!!!

Lovely and sweet Kayla from Glamorous Glam Geek is having a contest.
You must make a mani inspired by this photo!

Take care and love from me.

  1. I know what you mean! The airspace in the UK is also in lockdown and I feel bad for my friends who are still outside the country and can't return yet.

  3. Those are amazing pics ... mother nature is kind of putting her foot down right now, I can't believe how wide-spread the effects of the eruptions are.

  4. @ Colette: Yes people made gorgeous pictures. Yes mother nature is following her own path. That's nature. And so many contradictions. All the sorrow for the people in Iceland who had to leave their homes and all the flooding over there. That is terrible.
On the other hand gorgeous spectacle....awesome views and the ability to make fantastic pics all over. Still I hope it won't go any further. They are afraid that Katla, a major vulcano will be trickered by this eruption. Then they have a big problem. Don't want to think about that!!!

  5. Pictures look nice.

I know it sucks to be stuck in an airport but I think it could be a lot worse to be miles in the sky and crash because the pilot can't see or the engines shut down..

  6. @ Jessica: I totally agree with you!!! This is the only right decision to make I guess.

  8. I remember the week after 9/11, when all airtraffic in the US was grounded. It was so odd to look up and not see anything, and terrifying when the Military patrol planes would dash across the sky. We didn't know what they were doing or where they were going, but it was creepy. I hope everyone can fly again soon. enjoy the silence though, it probably won't happen again

  9. @ Jennifer: Me too but at the moment it is very uncertain I believe. Ryanair cancelled their flights till coming wednesday, so lots of problems still all over Europe. New cloud is coming this way again. From where are you flying?? And were are you heading?

  10. @ Scandalous: Yes that must been a fearfull experience I think :-(
That's something nobody wants to experience.
Over here still no airtraffic. Some have cancelled their flights till coming wednesday so it is not looking very good yet! Hope it will pass soon but I think it won't :-(
